What a wedding this was.
Kirsten & Mars got married at the beautiful Kurland Hotel, just outside Plettenberg Bay. It rained like there’s no tomorrow the night before and the morning of the wedding, and then it magically cleared up to become a absolutely perfect Spring day with beautiful big white clouds, and the sun shining through.
There where so many beautiful moments through out the day and I had a really tough time choosing just a few photos for this post. Kurland is truly a stunning venue with an old world charm, and with a couple like Kirsten and Mars, and not to even mention the rest of the family, I had a field day with photo opportunities.

The beautiful flowers where done by Pippa (pippas@telkomsa.net )

I was with Kirsten & Mars for basically the whole day, so I had loads of time to walk around and get some photos of the surrounds. Here is a few of the hotel.

Kirsten & her sister Cara getting the ceremony area ready. They had a beautiful ceremony outside under some huge trees. Absolutely perfect.

A few detail shots. I don’t normally post so many detail photos, but Kirsten did such a great job with all the little details through out the wedding, and I felt like it really showed her personality, so I just couldn’t help myself.

Showing me her stunning dress! (I know I’m using words like “beautiful” and “stunning” over and over, but it can not be helped!)

Kirsten’s expression when a few of Kurlands Polo horses where brought to the paddock right next to their suite.

Mars getting ready.

“The Boys” where sent out to go and buy Wellington boots for in case it started to rain again!

I just the expression on Mars’ face. He couldn’t keep his eyes off Kirsten.

We had to get a few photos with the horses.

This not so little guy tried to eat my camera!

The reception

This was such a cool idea. Everyone got a tag to write their wishes on and the tags then where tied to paper lanterns and send off up into the deep night sky. It was a beautiful sight and everyone joined in, waiters, kitchen staff, the chef and the whole band!

This was a very moving moment for me.

Even though they where a wedding party of only eight, Kirsten & Mars went all out with everything for the wedding, especially with the music! They had a bag piper (so cool!) for Kirsten’s “walk down the aisle”, a guitarist for the ceremony and pre-drinks, and a four piece band for the reception. And boy did they dance!
I just have to give props to Cuan Korsten and the band Ageing Superheroes for playing up a storm. If you like acoustic rock, bluesy (is that even a word?) kind of music then I can definitely recommend them.
