When Vinita phoned and said that she would like to book us for their wedding in Beaufort West I was immediately very excited. I love the karoo landscape. The beaches and forests of the Garden Route is nice, but the karoo is breathtaking.
Well, to me it is.
This was my first trip to Beaufort West, and the drive there was beautiful! There was colourful little veld flowers all along the road, and it’s such a shame we didn’t have time to stop for photos.
My first impression of Beaufort West wasn’t exactly a very good one. The wind was blowing up such a dust cloud and it coloured the sky a dirty blue brown. Not the best for a day that should be one of the happiest of your life. Luckily the wind calmed down by the time we where ready for the ceremony, and the sky was clear.
So, here is a few (allot) of photos of the day. Vinita & Jozef, thank for the opportunity I had to photograph your stunning karoo wedding. We had allot of fun, and the change of scenery was very welcome.
This was taken from the backseat of the car on our way to the church.
This is after the ceremony on our way to Lemoenfontein, a guest farmhouse 10km outside the town. We where driving in the car behind them all the way. Do you know how long it takes for a horse drawn carriage to travel 10km’s? LONG!
Taken out the window of the moving car.
We stopped along the way for a few photos.
A few of the photos, like this one, was processed with a Lightroom preset from one of my favorite South African wedding photographers, Dror Eyal .
Aren’t they a stunning couple?
This is my favorite photo. I love the guy pushing his bike in the background.
Oh, we where so lucky wiht the beautiful soft light and a slight breeze. It was all I hoped it would be.
Hope you like the photos. I get so emotionaly attached to them, so apologies for posting so many. Hope I don’t kill your bandwidth.
